Wrinkle Correction: Fillers

Dr. Dohner offers three different filler options in wrinkle correction and facial enhancement for patients with a wide range of needs: Radiesse®, Juvéderm™, and Restylane®. All three of these provide a natural look, and all three of them help correct creases and folds in your face, particularly around your nose and mouth, by filling them with a natural substance that replaces or stimulates new growth of the fillers naturally present in your skin.

So what's the difference?

Radiesse® is comprised of calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres. It is the longest-lasting of the three options, but requires the lengthiest treatment and the most extensive anesthesia. It can be used to fill in those pesky creases around your nose and mouth (the nasolabial folds) and to fill in your cheeks. Radiesse® stimulates fresh growth of your body's natural collagen, whereas Juvéderm™ and Restylane® are substances tailor-made to replace your body's natural fillers.

Both Restylane® and Juvéderm™ are fillers made of hyaluronic acid, made to be very similar to your body's natural components. These can be used anywhere on your face, including lips, fine lines, and the nasolabial folds. Juvéderm™ causes a bit more redness, swelling, and bruising than Restylane®, but can last slightly longer.
